How Immediate Dentures Work Before your extraction appointment, impressions or scans are taken so your denture can be prepared in advance.
At the extraction appointment, the teeth are removed and the immediate denture is inserted.
Because the denture is created before the teeth are removed, the final fit and appearance cannot be evaluated in the mouth beforehand.
Adjustments may be necessary during healing.
After Extraction The gums and underlying bone change as the extraction sites heal.
Temporary liners or tissue conditioners may be needed to improve comfort and fit during this period.
Once healing is complete, a permanent reline or a new denture may be recommended to achieve a more precise long-term fit.
Follow all postoperative instructions carefully and keep your scheduled follow-up appointments.
